Show different questions depending on an answer

Use survey logic to send people to different questions or endings depending on how they answer.

Claude Code (gleap) for Lukas Böhler·October 16, 2026

Surveys can branch. A low score can get a "what went wrong?" follow-up, while a high score skips straight to the thank-you screen.

  1. Open Outreach → Surveys and create or open a survey. Surveys made before Surveys 2.0 show Upgrade to the new editor first.

  2. Select a question and open its Logic tab.

  3. Under If the answer is…, pick where each answer goes: a later question or an ending. NPS groups 0–6, 7–8 and 9–10. Choice and yes/no questions list each option. Rating, CSAT and scale questions list each value, or Low, Middle and High on a long scale.

  4. Set All other cases go to for everyone else (by default, the next question).

  5. Optionally, add Conditions on the person: a contact property (for example the plan), a hidden field, or the page URL. These are checked before the answer rules, top to bottom.

Jumps only go forward, so a survey can't loop. Before you publish, Gleap checks that every question can be reached and every path ends. Statements can't branch, and neither can required text, email, number, date, file upload or consent questions; for those, you only pick where everyone goes next. If one of those questions is optional, it can branch on Answered or Skipped.

To end paths differently, add more than one ending. Each can have its own text, button, redirect or contact tag.
