A read-only workspace keeps everything you've built, but nothing reaches your customers until you pick a plan. You see it in an amber bar at the top of the dashboard: "Your workspace is read-only." followed by the reason. Only people with the Organisation management permission can choose a plan.
The bar names one of three reasons:
Your trial has ended. The 7-day trial ran out, or you cancelled it.
The Free plan has ended. Gleap no longer has a Free plan, and the trial without a card is gone too. Workspaces that used either one were moved to read-only in October 2026.
Your plan was cancelled. A cancelled plan reached its end date.
A failed payment doesn't make the workspace read-only straight away. See below.
Everyone in the workspace can still sign in and read every ticket, contact, article and setting. You can still delete a project, leave one, and manage billing. Your AI credits stay in your balance.
Paused until you pick a plan:
The widget doesn't load in your app or on your site.
No new conversations come in from any channel.
Kai Support and the other AI agents stop.
No emails or outbound messages go out.
You can't reply or create new projects.
Click Choose a plan in the bar at the top, or on the Billing page.
In Choose your plan, pick Yearly or Monthly.
Click the button on the plan you want and complete the checkout.
Everything switches back on straight away, exactly as you left it. You don't need to reinstall the widget.
When a payment fails, your plan keeps working for 7 days. Home shows "Your last payment failed." with Update payment, and the billing page marks the plan Past due. Update the card with Update payment method in Billing.
After 7 days, your workspace works with a limited plan until the payment goes through. It becomes read-only only if the subscription is cancelled.
If your workspace is on a plan from before the current pricing, an ended plan shows "Your subscription has ended" instead. Click Reactivate workspace to choose a plan.
